TP IFM Openhouse 2016

Hurray Y'all! Who isn't excited for Open House?! Well, it has always been the most looked-forward event for me cuz i get to have a glimpse of what the future students a.k.a my juniors are going to look like hehe... On top of that, we also get to publicize and share more on misconceptions about what our course is about!

Here are some photos of our fellow IFM Maincomms and ambassadors giving interested parents and students detailed explanations on our course

Some of the faces of our enthusiastic helpers who stayed on to assist throughout the 3 days!

A detailed building model of a condominium/residential building

Interested students signing their names up to be join the next cohort of awesome IFMers!

Smileeeee!!! So glad to see the seniors back with us
We enjoyed the bonding time together throughout the 3 days of event and we all learnt something new about our course and future career/profession paths that we haven't knew before, especially from some of the experienced lecturers.

IFM x TPrawks 2015

Hey Y'all! We took a LoooOoOoOoOooong break but now we're back!
Here are some photos of Rawkers paying attention to our very own IFM Lecturer, Ms Joanne on security and safety systems, specifically, alarming systems. The participants are getting first hand experience on activating and disarming alarm systems!

Participants paying their fullest attention to our fellow student ambassador at the front on security camera systems.

We would like to thank everyone for their help at this TPrawks event as well as the participants for visiting our booth! We're sure they have all brought useful knowledge back with them, apart from understanding what our course IFM is all about.

Cheers,
Jordan

IFM FO

Hello cuties!!! The long awaited post on the IFM FO is finally here!!! #rejoice

The IFM family would like to express their gratitude towards the maincomm whom made this camp happen.

(So from the top left we have Dorene our Honorary Secretary, Randall AKA Mr President, Meng Yang the Subcomm Head, Solihin our Treasurer Head, Joelle the Asst Treasurer Head, Yu Chao our Quatermaster.

Bottom from the left we have Publicity Head Jordan Lim *WOOHOOOO*, Event Co-Ord Rui, *Chio Pub Head Aida, Jiajin our Vice President and lastly, Mother Yiling as our Asst Subcomm Head.)

#NotFullSquad

We also couldn't have done this without the help of the various departments which i will queue in the photos below

After months of preparation, we finally achieved our goal which was to make our freshies feel a part of this family. Have we done so? You be the judge.

Soooo, the camp consisted of 2 days 1 night and was filled with games to bond our freshmen and also to learn the basic fundamentals that we learn in our core modules. We are honestly so blessed as the turnout rate was better than expected and the loud cheers from you guys honestly warmed our hearts. #Thankful #Blessed #IShouldStop

Here are some pictures to reminisce back

Thank you guys for being such a supportive bunch and we hope to see more of your faces in the future subcomm meetings to come. We love you all.

P.s. Is it even possible to have post camp syndrome for 2 months??????

IFM Mass Subcomm Outing!

G'day! It's our first ever IFM SUBCOMM OUTING for AY 15/16 WOOOO!

Kudos to the departments we have assigned with specific tasks for carrying out your jobs well! The effort could be seen from the faces on the rest of the subcomms :) The respective departments were Admin finance, Programmers, Food logistics. Even though the subcomms were all split into departments, we were all still "ONE IFM".

Excited much?!

We started the day with some ice breakers, volleyball/beachball as well as one of the empires getting their punishment for being the losing team! Who doesn't love doing punishments as a group right?!

After the activities, we proceeded to have  lunch by the beach. Food with a scenic view, come on, what could be better than that? Unfortunately, it rained seconds later, before anyone managed to sink their teeth into the homemade sandwiches and pastas made by some of our fellow subcomms. That did not prevent us from having our delightful lunch!we headed to a nearby shelter to continue eating.

More bonding games after lunch!

Final Forfeit for the day. Definitely got everyone riled up

Games and activities proudly brought to you by Team Programmers!

Mass Debrief before we head to shower followed by dinner together at Vivocity

Home Sweet Home, what a day it has been for all of us. Strangers become friends, friends become closer.

Final group shot before we head home to rest, thanks to everyone for coming down to participate and help out!

Cheers,
Jordan

AGM | IFM FO

Hellu everyone!! Okay this is pretty cool, first time blogging on here. Anyway, since we've passed the season of AGMs, we figured we'd let you guys in on the AGM we had which was held last year. We're a bit kiasu (i know).

The AGM was overall good, i got to eat pizza (WELL NOT REALLY BECAUSE APPARENTLY BY THE TIME WE WENT OUT, IT WAS ALL GONE).

Side note, although the past few months have been really tough with the preparation of camp and trying to understand the roles and what-ifs, it's been pretty great too. So so soooo blessed for the people that i've met here.

AND AND, speaking of camp. IFM FO IS ON!!!! To all IFM freshies, our camp will be held on the 19th of June and be sure to sign up by the end of the week!!! Camp fee is $14.50!! We are so excited and cannot wait to see you guys. Thank you for being so patient and can't wait for the fun to begin.

IFMA Foundation Student ePoster Competition

IFMA Foundation Student ePoster Competition
World Workplace 15
Denver Colorado
October 8, 2015

ePosters are short PowerPoint presentations representing work in the field of facility management (FM) and the built environment (BE). The ePoster competition is an opportunity for students from around the world to gain working knowledge and international recognition by presenting their experiences with FM/BE projects from internship/coop projects or related research. The culmination of the IFMA Foundation’s ePoster competition takes place at IFMA’s World Workplace Conference and Expo and is hosted by the IFMA Foundation’s Facility Management Accreditation Commission (FMAC). 2015 is the eighth year the ePoster competition has been sponsored by the IFMA Foundation.

Students may present an ePoster without attending the World Workplace (WWP) conference. Participating students not attending the conference may make their presentation via the internet with conferencing software provided by the conference sponsor.

Who can present?
All FM/BE students from IFMA Foundation Accredited Degree Program (ADP) students and higher education institutions around the globe (including associate, baccalaureate, master’s and doctoral degree candidates) are encouraged to participate as individuals or in teams of two.
Undergraduate students may tell a story of interesting course work, an assignment that captured your imagination or an internship experience in the field of FM/BE. You may wish to use the 11 IFMA Foundation core competencies (http://www.ifma.org/know-base/fm-knowledge-base/knowledge-base-details/11-core-competencies-of-facility-management) as a guide to selecting a subject.                                                           Graduate students will present their research subject.

How the competition works
1. Submit your intent to participate
State your intent to participate by submitting an ePoster competition application/abstract form at the following link:https://app.etapestry.com/onlineforms/IfmaFoundation/ePoster.html  by no later than March 11, 2015. This form may also be found on the IFMA foundation website: www.ifmafoundation.org.  Submissions will be reviewed with approval or rejection notices sent by no later thanMarch 27, 2015. The competition organizers reserve the right to decline applications at their discretion.
Proposal acceptance may be accompanied by comments and direction as appropriate. Once a proposal has been approved, its author(s) may proceed with developing their Round One submission.
2. Round One Submission
The initial ePoster submission is simply a video, approximately 8 minutes long, that will be judged by the following criteria: Clarity of message – 15 points and Quality of presentation (graphic and oral) – 15 points. Round One submission criteria and time frame will be provided to accepted applicants.
All applicants will be notified if their Round One submission has earned a high enough score to qualify for the final round at WWP.
Round One submissions may also be displayed at the IFMA Foundation WWP booth and may be posted on the IFMA Foundation website.
3. Final Round judging
Final judging will occur at IFMA’s World Workplace 2015 Conference and Expo. Finalists may present in person at the conference in Denver or remotely via a web conferencing platform and will receive details on logistics once selected. Presenters attending WWP will each receive a complimentary one-day registration to the conference (travel costs and accommodation not included) for Thursday, October 8, 2015.
Please note: the final presentation is a business oriented power point presentation. Criteria will be provided to finalists. Business attire is strongly encouraged for final round presentation.
ePoster submissions may also be displayed at the IFMA Foundation WWP booth and may be posted on the IFMA Foundation website. Awards will be announced that day and presented at the IFMA Foundation Academic Awards Reception (exact time will be communicated in advance).
Award
The author(s) of the winning ePoster will receive a certificate of recognition along with a travel and expense allowance, not to exceed US$1,500, to attend either the next EFMC conference or IFMA’s WWP.
All ePoster competition finalists will receive a certificate of participation.
